Drummond Construction Consultation _ Hardi Siding

A few pics of the installed James Hardi Siding on the Revere Consultation.  The owner wanted a modern sleek siding that was inexpensive.  The solution was standard James Hardi smooth panel siding ripped into a module that worked with the layout of the house.  The horizontal seams are covered with a simple galvanized z flashing, the vertical joints will be caulked, the screws are Kreg pockethole screws typically used in woodworking ( they have a weather proof coating as well as a self drilling tip and a washer head).  The corner and end caps are a Fry Reglet extruded aluminum trim made especially for Hardi siding. This siding just covers the upper cantilevered bedroom portions of the house, the rest of the house is wrapped in a natural cedar siding.  The siding will eventually get painted, our latest color opinion is lime green.  hardisiding

Drummond Construction Consultation

I have spent the last couple of months doing consulting work for friend. Some design ideas have been thrown around, discussed, scribbled on empty beer boxes, and finally construction is underway. A very unique design process for sure, more like a weekly design meeting. I’ve spent the past couple of weeks lending a hand on the construction end. Working as a make shift job site foreman, working out exterior siding details in the field, ordering materials, and coordinating with sub’s. This past weekend was spent milling solid cedar siding for the project, using off the shelf 1×4’s for a sleek contemporary siding. Just wait till you see what we have planned for some James Hardi siding on the project. DrummondRevere2
