We recently were awarded two KC Magazine Design Excellence Awards. We were honored with a bronze award in the Specialty Room Category for the WDB Walnut Slat Bar. Our Custom Office Furniture for SBMAC took home top honors in the Craftsmanship Category. We were featured in KC Magazine’s July issue in a story featuring local craftsman. The July Issue is also the Design Excellence Awards Issue so we have several photographs of our work throughout the magazine ( the issue is available online click here ).
We want to extend thanks to all of our great clients. We would not be able to produce award winning work if it wasn’t for you. Allowing us the freedom to produce our designs and push the envelope on a daily basis is priceless.

Another office of custom furniture we built for Jose Bautista at SBMAC. Simlar in construction technique and material to DA’s desk. We were originally challenged to designing office furniture to compliment a classic Eames 670 Lounge Chair and Ottoman. The concept of the chair was abstracted and a series of wooden boxes was bolted to metal framework. All metal work was provided by Heckert Sheet Metal. The metal finish is a combination of powder coating and a simple Linseed Oil Finish. One interested feature is the hidden licquor cabinet accessed by touch latch for the times when a celebration is in order.

Here are some photos of the completed Trophies we built for Anthem Media Group. The Trophies were commissioned as a holiday gift for Scott Tucker, he recently won his division at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs.
A few facts about the Trophy. The base of the award is made of an integral color concrete composed of a mix formula to simulate asphalt. The concrete was the work of our collaborator / concrete doctor John Kevern. The red portion of the trophy are solid Maple painted a high gloss Ferrari Red by the guys at Louisburg Auto Body. The center spire of the trophy is covered in a carbon fiber veneer. The aluminum plates were produced by Overland Park Awards.

Thanks to all of the collaborators on this project.
